Mattress Toppers

Add a separate foam comfort layer to an existing mattress. A topper can make a serviceable mattress feel softer or more supportive, but it is not a permanent solution for a damaged or sagging mattress.

Foam explained

How Do Foam Mattresses Work?

Foam mattresses use one or more foam layers to create the mattress's comfort and support structure. The upper layer influences surface feel and pressure distribution, while the deeper support layer helps the mattress retain its shape and support the sleeper.

Memory foam is a viscoelastic polyurethane foam. It responds to heat and pressure, gradually following the body's contours before returning towards its original form when the pressure is removed. Reflex and conventional polyurethane foams respond more quickly and are commonly used as supportive base or comfort layers.

The right choice depends on the complete construction rather than one description alone. Always compare the foam type, firmness or comfort rating, mattress depth, cover and intended use shown on the individual product page.

Established quality management

UK Foam Experience, Quality and Safety Standards

Our family moved into foam supply and conversion in 1983, building more than 40 years of direct foam experience across furniture, bedding, packaging, acoustic and specialist applications. Read the All Foam story.

All Foam sources foam from manufacturers operating ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems. All Foam is not itself ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Furniture-grade foams used in relevant products comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 and subsequent amendments. Where a finished mattress or specific product is tested to an additional standard, such as BS 7177, that compliance should be stated on its individual product page rather than assumed across the complete range.
