Do not substitute ordinary packaging foam where the component or customer specification requires anti-static, dissipative or conductive packaging. All Foam does not currently supply a dedicated anti-static foam sheet, so the required ESD material should be sourced to the exact specification.

Closed cell packaging foams have a non-absorbent structure and resist water better than open-cell foam. Suitability for outdoor, wet or submerged use still depends on the full application, joints, adhesive and exposure conditions.

Yes. Flat, closed-cell and dense foam sheets can be used for case inserts when the firmness and thickness suit the item. Measure the usable interior carefully, support the strongest parts and leave finger access so the item can be removed safely.

Fire performance varies between products. Each product card states whether the foam is fire retardant. Always check the linked data sheet when fire performance is important to the application.

Most packaging foam is designed for product protection rather than seating comfort. Choose a suitable upholstery foam for furniture. Dense reconstituted foam can have several uses, but its full specification must still match the seating application.
