A custom foam mattress is made to your chosen width, length, thickness and foam construction. Choose a standard UK size or enter your own rectangular measurements for a mattress made to fit the finished space.

A foam mattress can be a good choice when the support grade, comfort layers, depth and bed base suit the sleeper. A construction that is too soft, too firm or used on an unsuitable base may feel uncomfortable, so the layer choice matters.

The feel can vary significantly by foam grade and thickness. Memory foam responds more slowly and may feel warmer than faster-recovery foams, while a very soft or very firm construction will not suit everyone. Foam also needs a level, supportive bed base.

There is no single lifespan for every foam mattress. Durability depends on foam grade, mattress depth, frequency of use, the supporting bed base and care. All Foam custom mattresses include a 6 year warranty, subject to the warranty terms.

You can choose a standard UK mattress size or enter your own rectangular width and length. Standard sizes use an 8, 9 or 10 inch depth, while made to measure sizes accept a whole-inch thickness from 1 to 10 inches. Custom mattresses below 4 inches use one layer, 4 to 7 inch mattresses can use one or two layers, and 8 to 10 inch mattresses can use one, two or three layers.

Standard sizes are available at 8, 9 or 10 inches. For a rectangular custom size, enter any whole-inch thickness from 1 to 10 inches. Thickness alone does not decide firmness because the selected foam grades and layer construction also change the feel.

Custom mattresses below 4 inches use one foam layer. From 4 to 7 inches, you can choose one or two layers. At 8, 9 or 10 inches, you can choose one, two or three layers. Every active layer is at least 1 inch. The base support layer is thicker than the upper layers combined, except for the permitted balanced 2 inch base plus 2 inch comfort layer in a 4 inch mattress.

Medium foam provides a more balanced feel, High foam gives firmer support, Severe Very Firm is the firmest option, and Reflex grades provide faster recovery. Memory foam is available only for the top layer in a two or three layer construction.

Standard-size configurations include a fitted cover automatically, while custom rectangular mattresses are supplied without a made-to-measure cover.

No. A custom foam mattress is a complete layered sleeping surface. A mattress topper is a separate comfort layer placed on an existing mattress and cannot replace a damaged or unsupported mattress core.

A slatted base may be suitable when it is level, stable and provides even support with gaps that are not too wide. Check the bed-base condition and measurements before ordering.
